Welcome to Reverie, where we pride ourselves on being the first kennel to breed, compete, and show American Akitas. Since, the popularity of the breed has skyrocketed from our foundation six to over 30 American Akitas in the community. More than two-thirds of these dogs originate from Reverie. Established January 22, 2013 - we've managed to make a quick up-and-coming in the community with our preparedness to help those who need it and Akitas that were bred to strive for ascendancy. Our dogs have obvious personality and, being as well-trained as they are, nothing short of eager to please. Not only is the American Akita brave, reserved, and good-looking - they're remarkably devoted to their owners and make great impressions on everyone they meet.
Our mission statement: Reverie's American Akitas will never be in and / or cross-bred, ensuring a carat pedigree, nor will they be bred until they've received proper training and evidence a desirable temperament. Any Akita that doesn't meet conformation-standards won't be bred or sold. We guarantee you a puppy that is show-quality and eligible to be bred / registered with the SKC affiliated American Akita Club, owned and operated by yours truly.

Saturday, June 15 / 2:48 - Well, I did it. I finished the trophies - posted them - and even got around to breeding Havoc and Havana. The two produced six beautiful and healthy puppies! Each and every single one of them found a home within a matter of hours. One of the four males - the particularly expressive Brooks who reminds me a lot of his mother - was retained. I'm confident his unique, red-and-brown brindle coat and "pinto" pattern will stand out in the ring. I'm excited to see where the rest of the puppies end up! They've all got champion potential and I'm sure they'll make Reverie - and their new owners - very proud. Tuesday, June 11 / 5:25 - I was hoping I wouldn't have to make another post apologizing for yet another absence, but here it is! The Canine Casanova competition many of you have waited for results from has been judged. Winners will be announced as soon as I make the prizes. Also, to sort of "welcome myself back", I'm going to start working on The Havoc and Havana litter like I promised before disappearing. That - and having the prizes under and, then, out of the way - should help me get back in to the swing of things! Sunday, April 7 / 8:35 - Sorry I haven't updated the site in a while. I tend to "appear" more active on the forum. There isn't much going on, really. I'm busy with banner requests for State of Reverie (which, don't get me wrong - it's awesome to have it be such a huge success) but damn is it a lot of work! A Makoto and Havana litter is in its early developmental stages. I want to squeeze Havoc into one more show before I breed him. I'm not sure I'll be able to resist, though! Sunday, March 24 / 1:06 - I spent HOURS designing Isidora and Makoto's puppies and - fortunately - it paid off because they all found homes extremely fast. Words can't express my excitement to see them thriving in the community and, some day soon, in the ring. Thank you to everyone that's adopted a pup from RVE's very first litter and helped make the breeding a huge success. I hope everyone's happy with their puppies and I can't wait to receive everyone's testimonial! Saturday, March 23 / 8:35 - Today, I really plan on working on Isidora and Makoto pups. I had a dream about them, so the ominous task of getting all of them done has kind of been stressing me out - but I'm so excited to see them! It seems others are, too, so that's amazing to hear. I love to see that the popularity of the breed, at first, was pretty much null. Now it looks like I'll see even more American Akitas. WOO-HOO! On a side note, me and Paper Orchid have split up the Akita registry I took on and specialized. Now I run the American portion and she, the Japanese. This should make it easier on both of us when it comes to the amount of dogs we have to register. OFF TO MAKE SOME PUPS! Seriously this time. I got Deadspace 3 last night so that's kind of what threw me off... oops... Wednesday, March 20 / 10:37 - I put in a little much-needed work on the dog's profiles, spruced them up with a new cut-out, and provided them with a pedigree chart. Tomorrow I need to add to my partners and update my affiliates as well as catch up on some State of Reverie graphic requests. AH. Pray I don't overwhelm myself. Hopefully I can get back on top of things tomorrow, but, for now - consider me buried. I want to get this all over with so I can breed Makoto and Isidora! It seems like my work is never, though. Saturday, March 16 / 7:05 - Again, my update's a little late, but Isidora placed second in the third and final level of SKC's conformation show. She lost by a single point. She will definitely be back in the ring the next opportunity she gets. After some thought, I've decided to down-size. When I first created Reverie, I didn't realize how little time I'd have to dedicate to my dogs. So, instead of six - I've stuck with two: my favorites, Makoto and Isidora, of course. They'll be bred as soon as Makoto proves himself to be an asset of the breed by earning himself some more points. I expect to add some new breeds to the kennel, too. Who knows what direction Reverie will take! All I know is that it's time for a change. Saturday, March 2 / 9:57 - This is a late update, but, for anyone who still checks here for the hub of Reverie activity, Isidora WON best of group - in the LARGEST, most competitive group in the competition. Let me just say my mind is absolutely blown and I am so, so, so proud of her and this win. I can't wait to see the turnout for level three. Hopefully getting her another title will make her future Akita puppies more sought after. I'd love to see new 'kita breeders in the community! Friday, February 22 / 10:10 - Sorry I haven't been around all that much! I explain why on the forum - but I am far from inactive! I've been patiently waiting for the results for the second level of the conformation show Isidora is entered in. I'm so stoked for the results! I'm hoping for a great outcome. I worked super hard on her entry. I think it shows - but we'll see what the judges say! She's facing some serious competition and, of course - American Akitas just happen to be a part of the working group (the one with the most competitors). Oh well. If she doesn't move on to the next round, she'll be bred to Makoto very soon. Maybe more people will start breeding Akitas! Sunday, February 10 / 1:29 - Makoto and Havana have both been entered in the first AeS Utility Dog Obedience Trial. The trial will be judged tomorrow, so we're really excited to hear the results! Isidora has advanced to the second level of the SKC conformation show and her entry has already been submitted. Above all, this is the show we're most anxious to get the results from. Hopefully it'll be judged early because the anticipation is killing me! There's a lot of serious competition in the working group - so, ultimately - fingers crossed. All we can do is hope! 9:08 - The site got a face-lift. Erm, still trying to figure out the coding and why the header I made won't show up on EVERY page. But, whatever... I'm tired for tonight. Hope it looks okay! I'm sure it'll still see a lot more changes, but, for now, this is how it's gonna stay. Thursday, February 7 / 5:35 - Great news! Results for the KSK Working Trial came in yesterday and Santiago received third. I guess that isn't too bad, but there's always room for improvement. Isidora won Best of Breed in the SKC Conformation Show and scored a whopping 28 points! We're so, so, so proud of her. We can't wait for the next competition. Because of her success, we hope to be breeding her soon. However, we'd like to pair her with Makoto. There's a good chance I'll be waiting until he places a little better in his next competition before breeding him so he has another achievement under his belt. Tuesday, February 5 / 7:47 - Reverie is now the official host of the Akita Breed Club! Anyone with Akitas - both Japanese and American type - are welcome to register with us! I'll be working on certificates for owners to display on the profiles of their registered Akitas. Sunday, February 3 / 2:57 - Putting more work in on the dog's profiles! Santiago and India got a little bit of a "touch-up". The line between Santiago's head before was too defined. I used another marking to soften it some and smooth the transition from his dark head to the rest of his body. He's looking handsome-er than ever! India got some dark spots around her eyes and, might I say - it really brings them out. Makoto placed third in the Working Dog Trial he was entered in. Not too shabby for our first show! Let's cross our fingers and hope Isidora does a little better in her conformation show! Saturday, February 2 / 7:58 - Still slowly working my way through the dog's individual profiles. I've been slacking on that, but I have managed to enter Isidora in the SKC Conformation Show and Makoto in SCR's first Working Dog Trial. It's the first shows I've ever participated in, so wish us luck! Wednesday, January 30 / 3:35 - Progress is being made on the dog's profiles, rules written, and application completed for future puppies! Nothing's "concrete" yet and the site's still seeing quite a few changes. However, I am looking into entering Makoto in a working dog trial. Sunday, January 27 / 10:22 - Reverie's been made public! Our "foundation six" have been created but their individual profiles are still under construction. The site's going to see a lot of improvement soon, hopefully. For now, though - I hope you like what you see! |
